Cambridge Theatre is on Earlham Street in Seven Dials. The main choice nearby is between a reserved restaurant table and Seven Dials Market's shared seating. A market meal gives a group more choice, but it is less predictable when you have a firm curtain time.
Sit-down meals before the show
Rosa's Thai Seven Dials, on Earlham Street, is an option for Thai curries, noodles and stir-fries. Check the branch's current booking and service information rather than assume a late table will be available after your performance.
Crudo Covent Garden, at 36 Monmouth Street, serves Latin American ceviche, tacos and sharing plates, alongside Pisco Sours. The small restaurant suits a booked meal rather than a large party arriving at the last minute. It opens at 5pm Monday–Thursday, so it is not a Monday-to-Thursday lunch option; Friday–Sunday service starts at noon. Check the pre-theatre menu and allow time for several shared dishes.
Quick food at Seven Dials Market
These four choices are within Seven Dials Market, not four separate sit-down restaurants. A group can order different food and use the shared seating, but build in time to find a table and collect everyone's order.
STAKEhaus serves steak, sandwiches and fries in the Banana Warehouse area. It is the substantial meat-and-sides option here without the format of a conventional steakhouse dinner.
Sukoshi, in Cucumber Alley, focuses on sushi rolls, shumai and tataki. The vendor does not take reservations. Seven Dials Market separately accepts shared-table bookings for groups of four or more; these are not reserved restaurant tables at Sukoshi.
Bad Boy Pizza Society serves New York-style, 22-inch pizzas by the slice—a useful option for a smaller meal or a brief pre-show stop.
Lucky's Hot Chicken serves chicken sandos, wings and strips with a choice of heat levels.
Pubs and cocktails
The Crown, at 43 Monmouth Street, combines cask ales and other drinks with pub food. It is a straightforward alternative to the market if your group prefers one table and one menu.
The Two Brewers, at 40 Monmouth Street, is another option for pub classics and a pint. Food is served noon–9pm daily, so a late drink is not the same as a late dinner.
The Escapologist, at 35 Earlham Street, is a basement cocktail bar rather than a food-market stall. It closes at midnight Monday–Saturday and 11.30pm Sunday, making it a more useful choice for a post-show cocktail than places whose kitchens have already closed. Reserve if you need a table.
Before you go
Check service times for your date and tell a restaurant when you need to leave. Allow time to pay, collect coats and return to Earlham Street before the performance.
