Each will join writer-performer Tim Crouch for one scheduled performance at The Other Palace in London, making the autumn run an especially varied theatrical event.

Why every performance is different
An Oak Tree is a two-hander about a father whose daughter dies in a car accident and the stage hypnotist who was driving the car. The guest actor plays the Father and arrives without having seen or read the play; the actor encounters the script live on stage. Crouch plays the Hypnotist, as set out on Tim Crouch’s production page.
That rotating-cast structure is the heart of the show. The story and theatrical framework remain in place, but the guest performer’s first reactions, discoveries and exchanges with Crouch cannot be repeated exactly. Audiences therefore see a genuinely live version of the play rather than a standard fixed-cast performance.
The production runs in the Main House at The Other Palace from 7 October to 15 November 2026. It lasts approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, is recommended for ages 12 and over, and contains themes of bereavement, the death of a family member or child, grief and strong language.
