Rowan Atkinson Announces Limited West End Run of ‘Rowan Live’ in 2027

Rowan Atkinson is returning to the stage for a short London run of Rowan Live, a new comedy event bringing some of his best-known characters and sketches to the Gillian Lynne Theatre in 2027. The official LW Theatres production page lists performances from 8 February to 13 March 2027.

What to expect from Rowan Live

The show will draw on Atkinson’s celebrated physical-comedy style and precise timing, revisiting favourites including the chaotic Mr Bean and the sharply comic Blackadder. It will also feature material associated with Not the Nine O’Clock News, alongside brand-new work created with long-term collaborators Richard Curtis, Ben Elton and Howard Goodall.

That mix gives the limited engagement a broad theatrical appeal: audiences can celebrate familiar television comedy while seeing Atkinson develop those ideas for a live stage setting. The production is listed as comedy and is recommended for ages 12 and over.

Venue and booking information

Rowan Live will play at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, 166 Drury Lane, Holborn, London WC2B 5PW. The venue describes itself as a West End theatre in Covent Garden and is known for hosting major plays, musicals and theatrical events.

Tickets are listed from £35, with no booking fees; the published price includes a £2 restoration levy. The LW Theatres page identifies LW Theatres as the official box office. A pre-sale is scheduled for Wednesday 7 October at 9am, followed by general sale at 12pm on the same day.

The running time has not yet been confirmed, and the theatre says further content guidance will be provided as the production develops. Visitors can also find accessibility information and optional VIP packages through the official production page.

For fans of Atkinson’s distinctive stagecraft—and for anyone looking for a celebratory West End comedy night—this limited run offers the chance to see a major British performer bring a career-spanning collection of characters to life in person.
