Full casting announced for West End Cast of One Day at the Garrick Theatre
The West End company for One Day – The Musical is taking shape ahead of its arrival at London’s Garrick Theatre, with Jamie Muscato and Sharon Rose leading a company that brings David Nicholls’s much-loved story to the stage. Cast announced
Muscato plays Dexter, with Rose as Emma. Joining them are Josefina Gabrielle as Alison Mayhew, Miracle Chance as Tilly, Kelly Hampson as Sylvie and David Birrell as Stephen. The company also includes Matthew McKenna as Mr Godalming, Dan Buckley as Ian and Peter Hannah as Callum and Ensemble. Tanisha Butterfield, Ewan Murphy and Kirsty Anne Shaw complete the announced cast. The musical follows Emma and Dexter from the night of their university graduation, returning to the same date over the years as their friendship, ambitions and love story evolve. Its stage adaptation is based on Nicholls’s global bestselling novel.
A new musical for the West End
The production features a book by David Greig, music and lyrics by Abner and Amanda Ramirez, and additional material by Jeremy Sams. Max Webster directs, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille. The creative team also includes Rae Smith (set and costume design), Bruno Poet (lighting), Simon Baker (sound), Nigel Lilley (musical supervision, musical direction and co-arrangement), Simon Hale (orchestration and co-arrangement) and Stuart Burt CDG (casting). At the Garrick, the production will run for approximately two hours and 40 minutes including an interval. The venue gives the show a central West End home for its romantic, life-affirming story, offering audiences the chance to see this new musical adaptation after its world-premiere journey in Edinburgh.
The production is recommended for ages 12 and over and contains drug and alcohol misuse, very strong language and strobe lighting.
With its ensemble now announced, One Day – The Musical brings together a mix of established West End performers and rising talent for a new chapter at one of London’s best-known theatres.
