Full casting announced for Andrew Barth Feldman-led 'Nero'
Andrew Barth Feldman will lead the world premiere of NERO at Southwark Playhouse Elephant, with the venue now listing the complete company for the new musical. The production runs from 2 November to 5 December 2026 in the venue’s Main Space.

Feldman plays Nero, alongside Stephen Carlile as Seneca, Sally Dexter as Agrippina, Nabi Brown as Octavia, Waylon Jacobs as Tigellinus, Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky as Poppea, Timo Tatzber as Britannicus and Liam Wrate as Narcissus.
The ensemble and cover company features Izzy Formby-Jackson, Jodie Knight, Rory Maguire, Zach Parkin and Amy Putner. The venue also identifies Formby-Jackson as cover Octavia, Knight as cover Poppea, Maguire as cover Britannicus, Putner as cover Agrippina, Tatzber as cover Nero, and Wrate as cover Seneca and Tigellinus. Parkin is the dance captain.
A new musical from the creators of Spring Awakening
The show has a book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Steven Sater and music by Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik, the creative team behind Spring Awakening. Lindsay Posner directs, with choreography by James Cousins. The wider creative team includes musical supervisor, vocal arranger and co-orchestrator Phil Bateman; musical director and co-orchestrator Ben McQuigg; designer Georgia Lowe; lighting designer Robbie Butler; and sound designer Tony Gayle.
Southwark Playhouse describes the musical as a contemporary reimagining of Nero, tracing the young ruler’s rise from artist and performer to an heir caught in family conflict, love and political intrigue. Its themes include ambition, celebrity, leadership and the cost of absolute power.
Performances are scheduled Monday to Saturday at 7pm, with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. The estimated running time is two hours and 20 minutes, including an interval. The venue recommends the production for ages 15 and over and lists a captioned performance for 24 November at 7pm.
